Overview
The Chinese Yuan (CNY), officially known as the renminbi (RMB), is the official currency of the People's Republic of China. It is the world's second-largest economy's currency and has become increasingly important in international trade and finance. The yuan is managed by the People's Bank of China (PBOC) through a managed floating exchange rate system and is included in the IMF's Special Drawing Rights basket since 2016, making it one of the world's major reserve currencies.
